Mandy and Garrett's Visit

Our Grandson Garrett...look at those baby blue eyes and that peanut butter smile!!!!!!

Mandy and Garrett came to visit us last weekend, it was nice so see them and spend some time with them. Garrett is growing so FAST and is busy, busy, busy. I again got a realization why we have our kids when we are young!!!!!! Never a dull moment or a restful moment for that matter!!!

Grandpa fixed Garrett some toast with peanut butter....Garrett decided to share with him...mmmmmmmm

Grandpa and Garrett

That piece of toast got worked over!!!!!

He LOVED the steps...we almost had one down the steps head first incident but Grandpa came to the rescue. But other then that, those steps kept him pretty busy.

Garrett driving Mom's car all smiles!!!!!

Brent checked out Mandy's car and as you can see he had some help...busy boy LOVED Grandpa's tools!!!!!

Mom and Son just before they took off to head back to Spooner.

Grandpa, Garrett and Mandy.....I LOVE this picture!!!!!!

Mandy, I and Garrett did some shopping while she was here and went out to eat a couple times. On Saturday, we all went to the Cranberry Festival in Warrens, Wisconsin. The Cranberry Festival is a huge craft sale and they also give tours of cranberry marshes and sell fresh cranberries. We had the stroller, thank God for that, but it also made it hard to get too close to the booths and see much. There were people everywhere which is great for the festival but makes it hard to get around.....I am not a big fan of huge crowds. But it was something to do and we enjoyed being together as a family.

I am heading to Spooner today and will be there until Friday. I always enjoy going home so much. My cute little husband is not so happy when I go home though....he already misses me and doesn't want me to go. I wish he could get some time off so he could come with me...but that's not going to happen. I told him I will be back before he knows it and then we can spend the weekend together :)

Have a BLESSED week everyone...Rhonda

New Prims and New Furniture at Country Freckles

Today I dropped off some more creations at Country Freckles. I'm thinking this might be the end of Fall creating for me. My sister and I are doing 2 craft shows in November in Spooner, Wisconsin so I have a lot of work to do until then building up some stock.

I finished up this horse last week. If you are a horse lover like me, you will understand how exciting this is. I LOVE dolls but it is nice to have a horse standing around reminding me of the good old days of showing horses with my daughters!!!!!!

This little witch bust turned out really cute. Again, I am not really into witch stuff but Joni says this stuff really sells so I made a few witches and witch hats for the season this year.

A close up look at her little witch face and her cat.

I made these little pocket hangers. I put a crow, some sweet annie and a grungy candle in the pockets. It is made out of flannel fabric which I coffee stained to give it a real old look. It is so simple and sweet....I really like it. I am going to have to make one of these for myself when we get into our new home on the cranberry marsh.

Speaking of the house on the marsh....it is still in progress and they are saying that it should be set on the foundation the end of Oct or beginning of Nov. I will get excited when I really see it happening so until then I am just trying to be happy where I am right now.

Another flannel pocket hanger with one of my dolls below.

An last but not least, here is a pumpkin door doll...cute.

As I mentioned in my last post, we went to Market in Madison last weekend. Joni worked all day Monday moving things around in her store to make room for the awesome new furniture she bought there. I snapped a few pictures of her update decor.

Lots of Fall decos

And here is the owner, designer and the CEO of Country Freckles.....Joni. She didn't want me to take her picture but she was a good sport when I took it anyway:) She does such a GREAT job with her store. She puts her ALL into it and it shows.

A gorgeous table all decked out with Fall...notice my new witch bust sitting there :)

The cabinet along the back wall in new. It is called a Buttery, not sure why it's called that but I sure do LOVE it!!!!!

This is a picture of the dinning room area. The cabinet along the back wall is new in this room also.

A very comfortable inviting room, makes you want to sit and relax!!!!

The tall black cabinet with the arched top is a new piece.....but I think it sold yesterday already :)

Joni stocked up on Black Crow Candles, she bought some awesome new scents.....LOVE THEM!!!!

My pictures CAN NOT begin to capture Joni's awesome store. I wish you all could come and look for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I better get busy and get something done today. Have a BLESSED Thursday everyone!!!!! Rhonda

We Bought Some LAND In Spooner

I am sure you are all wondering if I am still alive......Well, I'm still alive and I'm still prim'in too :) Just been busier then an cat covering crap in a wind storm :)

Fall is here!!!!!! The leaves are turning beautiful colors and the air is getting much cooler. I LOVE Fall but I also know what is around the corner when Fall arrives....Winter...ick!!!!!!!

Last Friday, my girl friend Roxanne from Spooner came and spent a couple days with me. I met her in Black River Falls and from there the party was on. We spent Friday hitting primitive shops and hunting for thrift sales. Roxanne has a booth at an Antique Mall in Spooner so she is always looking for treasures. In our travels, we stumbled on this adorable little place called The Pumpkin Shed. There were pumpkins, squash and gourdes galore!!!!!! I LOVE the colors of the Fall harvest, it is so peaceful and settling.

Below are some a few pictures of The Pumpkin Shed

We also hit the Market in Madison last weekend.....we shopped til we dropped. I do not have any pictures of it because we were on a dead run and I didn't even think about pulling my camera out of my purse....sorry.

We had a great weekend together and it was so nice to spend time with her and show her around Wisconsin Rapids. I still consider Spooner my home but this is where I am right now so it was nice to share it with her. She LOVED Joni from Country Freckles and enjoyed visiting her shop very much!!!!!!

We Bought Some Land In Spooner

Because Spooner is still our home and always will be, Brent and I made an offer on a 40 acres piece of property on Fox Road last week. They counter offered....we accepted and we will close on this little piece of paradise October 17th YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are here in Wisconsin Rapids for the job right now but someday want to retire back home where we belong in Spooner, Wisconsin. Marsh life is a good life but.....when the job is done and you have worked many, many years for someone elses future......you find that you have not worked to built up your own....we will not do that at our age. That is why we bought this property and plan on building a home on it maybe next summer. We can use it as a cabin for now, but will live there full-time someday....best of both worlds I'd say!!!!!!!! It has 8 apple trees and some raspberry bushes planted in the field with a deer fence around it which I LOVE!!!! It starts with a beautiful field and goes into gorgeous tress with some walking trails already cleared out. We plan on building in the woods for a private retreat setting. Can't wait to see a house back in there!!!!!!

Here is the start of the property from the road. As I mentioned first it's field then gorgeous woods from there.

A view of the field. You can kinda see the apple trees in the distance.

Here is one of the trails.....love it!!!!

My cute little husband looking the situation over.

Brent has a thing about beautiful trees....he is VERY picky!!!! Here he is looking over the woods.

There will be great hunting in here...we saw 3 deer just walking through it. Brent loves to bow hunt so maybe we will have some venison in the freezer :)

A view from the other edge of the field

Here is a view that you see looking from the edge of the woods toward the road.....awesome!!!!! There is farm land across the way........I LOVE to see farmers fields all planted with crops....so peaceful and simple!!!!!!

So........we have a plan for our future and we will work hard to achieve it. God is soooo GOOD and we thank him for this awesome opportunity!!!!!!

I wanted to share our new adventure with you all but......I have been working on some dolls and will have some pictures to show you on my next post. Have a BLESSED day everyone.....Rhonda

Whatcha Workin On Wednesday

Today I finished up some primitives and brought them into Country Freckles to find new homes. I also took some pictures of them there. Below are some of the items I have been working on.

Here is a witches hat and boots I finished up. This hat is quit large and would make a great center piece on your table.

Stacking pumpkin scarecrow

Pumpkin head with crow

Here is my newest doll....I LOVE this horse!!!! He is just the perfect size for a shelf or just tuck him away among crocks or baskets.

I used a piece of Heirloom Weavers cloth for his saddle. It brings even more old and vintage look to him which I love.

These mice creeped me out a bit they look so real..I HATE MICE!!!!! but I really liked this little creation, I think it's adorable.

Here is a pumpkin head door doll. He looks so nice hanging here waiting for a new home :)

What a cute little face.....

Here is a cat with a mouse on his tail...this is a pattern from Old Homestead Barn

Another witch hat with mice.

The rest of the pictures are of Joni's adorable shop "County Freckles". These pictures do not begin to capture how awesome her shop is, but they do give you a vision of her talent and all her hard work to keep it looking fresh and full of goodies.

Here is a grouping with my cats sitting on a shelf.

As you look down the hall there are two more rooms full of goodies and awesome furniture.

There is a room full of bedding and curtains by Heirloom Weavers and other great companies.

This is a view of when you first walk into her store...it gets your attention and make you want to see more!!!!!

Joni has some awesome furniture....it is all handmade and is very primitive.

Joni's shop is FULL of Fall

Here is a gorgeous glass front red and white cabinet with one of my stitch dress hanging off of it....LOVE IT!!!!!

I am very blessed to be able to bring my creations to such an awesome shop. A year ago when I walked into Joni's shop I could not have never imagined what a good friend Joni would become and how many great times we would have together. Being new to a town can be very lonely and unsettling. But God has blessed me with a good friend with a common interest and for that I am so thankful!!!!!!!

Well that's about it for now. I am going to go and get a early start on the day, I plan on hitting some garage sales and antique store so I better get in the shower. Have a BLESSED day everyone.....Rhonda
