I have some good news to share with you all. I have been waiting to make sure it was really going to happen before I shared it. WE ARE FINALLY GETTING OUR NEW HOUSE!!!!!!! We picked out all the colors and windows and such yesterday. The house is being started on Oct. 1st and we should be able to move into it the middle of November....can you believe it.....NO MORE RENTING!!!!! Thank you Jesus for your faithfulness.

This is a picture of where our house is going to be standing. My husband has been excavating and preparing the building site.

Brent and I went for a ride on Sunday and we saw this herd of cattle. We stopped to visit them and I had to take a few pics. They are so funny....very curious!!!! I LOVE animals I could have totally been a farmers wife....I guess I am....a cranberry farmers wife :) Anyway, when we get settle at the cranberry marsh, I plan on getting chickens...I LOVE to watch them and also listen to the roaster crow.
This little fella is so black it was hard to get a good pic

Home With Goodies

We are back from Columbus, Ohio with lots of goodies. We had such a great time and seen so many primitives and handmade things!!!! It is so fun to spend time with gals who love the same thing you do!!!! I learned a lot about shopping for a store though, you grab what you want when you see it (don't even think about it, there's no time...just GRAB). Pile your items high and then stand guard over it with your life. If you don't stand guard it will be hauled off by some else. There were so many ladies shopping it was such a mad house, never seen anything like it!!!!

We arrive in Columbus tired but excited!!!!!!

Here is a cool chair Joanie purchased for her store, it's so cool!!!!! Would look awesome on a covered porch. Brings a feel of simpler times doesn't it.

Some of the cool furniture pieces

So many things to look at, I didn't take many pictures because they don't like you taking pictures at the show so I tried to obey :)

We stopped at the Warm Glow Candle Co. Outlet Store on the way to the show, it was stuffed FULL of candles and many other goodies. We also stopped at a couple Antique Malls but I didn't get any pictures of them.

Here we are getting ready to leave the show. Joanie's car is PACKED FULL we could barely get the back end shut.

Well, back to work for me. Here are some of the pumpkins I finished up today. I think they turned out really cute.

Little Pumpkin Heads

I put witches hats on some of them to add a different twist.

Aren't they cute.....

That's about it. Tomorrow I plan on working on cat's stuffed into a witches hat, I will post pictures of that when I get it done. Have a BLESSED night.....Rhonda

Muggy Monday Morning

It is a very muggy Monday here in Rapids. It seemed like summer was NEVER going to get here but I think she has arrived with a vengeance. According to the weather channel, this is just the start of a very hot week.

I enjoy seeing pictures of everyone's gardens so much, I LOVE GARDENING and CANNING. But again...we are in a rental so for now, my garden is in pots on the deck. So here are some pictures of my pole green beans, cucumber plants and tomato plants. I have never gardened in pots before so I am learning as I go. My plants ended up getting Japanese beetles so my husband and I had to dust everything with seven dust daily for a while. I think we have them under control but my plants did take a bit of a hit from the ugly bugs rrrrrrrrrr.....they are so annoying!!!!!!!

I have been watering with Miracle Grow weekly and they are starting to climb the fence and get full and bushy

my tomato plant

They are recovering slowly from the bug thing and hopefully will produce beans soon

Here is a view of my whole pot garden along with my wash tub and flowers

This is one of my favorite flowers pots. I picked this hanging pot up this spring at a sale and I LOVE IT!!!!!

My ferns have doubles in size

Today is going to be a working day for me. I have many many Fall primitives to finish up and get delivered to Country Freckles before Wednesday. Why before Wednesday...well..... Joni, Lisa and I are heading to Columbus, Ohio for a Market show. I am excited to see all the vendors and items for sale. I will be posting pictures of our trip for sure!!!!!

Painted witches hats, crows, bats, stars and a lone horse all ready for some attention

Painted prims

Orange pumpkins and black cats...work in progress

As you can see I have a lot of work to do so I will say goodbye for now...have a BLESSED day everyone.....Rhonda

An AMAZING Homemade Bread Recipe

My daughter and I made homemade bread last week and it was AWESOME!!!!! This is the best homemade bread recipe ever. Here CLICK HERE for the recipe.

Twenty years ago was my first and only time (until now) I had ever tried to make homemade bread and it was a complete disaster. I was so excited to make bread for my young family and followed the recipe to the letter. I spent all day trying to get it to rise. I finally baked it and when it came out of the oven it was as HARD as a rock and felt like a brick, I was so discouraged. I must have killed the yeast but didn't know it. So needless to say, I never tried baking bread again until last week, I didn't know what I was missing. Making homemade bread is SO FUN!!!!!!

Raised and ready for the oven

Golden brown and soooooooooooo good. We are minus one loaf here because we had already ate half a loaf before I could take a picture mmmmmmmmmmm

Our bread making day was a SUCCESS!!!!!

I am on a roll I want to bake bread all the time. If anyone has a favorite bread recipe and would like to share it with me, I would appreciate it very much.

On another subject, I am still working on my Fall primitives and will have a few items done hopefully this weekend. Look for pictures soon. God Bless....Rhonda
